Ross Brown, a dynamic advocate and seasoned union leader from the Lower Mainland, is poised to bring his unwavering passion for workers' rights to the pivotal role of Secretary-Treasurer at Local 1944.
As a Leadership Development Scholarship student with a degree in Media Communications, Ross has been a dedicated Local Union Representative since March 2023. His background as Trustee, Local Union Rep, and Engagement Officer has been marked by strategic campaigns that significantly increased membership participation. Ross has tackled apathy one conversation at a time, steadily growing engagement within his home unit and extending this success to positively impact the entire Local.
In addition to his advocacy work, Ross brings a wealth of financial acumen, having served as Trustee for five years. His commitment to transparency and accountability is evident and he has further demonstrated his expertise during an 18-month tenure as Secretary to the Telus Bargaining Committee.
As a proven leader, Ross is eager to leverage his skills in communication, project management, and financial oversight to contribute to the efficiency and success of USW Local 1944.
