Currently serving as the dedicated Secretary-Treasurer of our Local, Michael has been a driving force behind fortifying our Union's strength. Since 2007, East Vancouver has been home, marking the same year of joining Telus in Competitive Operator Services in New Westminster.

In tune with the MembersUnite spirit, Michael's journey within the Local has been a dynamic climb. Starting as a shop steward in 2009, evolving into the Unit Secretary in 2010, embracing the role of Finance Committee member in 2012, leading as the Finance Committee Chair in 2016, and taking on the position of Secretary-Treasurer in 2017, among other roles. Along this exciting path, there has been an unwavering commitment to labour education, attending the Canadian Labour Congress Winter School for a cumulative three weeks, diving into the 4-year USW Leadership Development Scholarship Program in 2019, and immersing in various other labour activist courses.

Now, after having helped transition the Local from near-poverty to prosperity over six years as Secretary-Treasurer, Michael is enthusiastically embracing the challenge of the President's role. He's equipped with the vision and determination needed to lead this proud Local. Michael is dedicated to ensuring that our Local gains the connectedness and power necessary to ensure that members at each of our employers will be gaining improved collective agreements from now on, in line with what they deserve and require. To do this, Michael wants to shake things up and bring new, exciting ideas to make this union more solid, strong, and resilient.
